This is a story I learned from a friend of mine which she heard from her friend of friend, of another friend.
"So later at midnight, its gonna be Jenny's birthday. Jenny was laying on her bed with her mind wanders, is Bobby gonna wish her happy birthday. Bobby is Jenny's friend. She's in love with Bobby. Madly. Everything is beautiful in Jenny's life, except that, Bobby never knew what feelings Jenny has for him. Jenny couldn't bring herself to tell how much she loved Bobby. So, at some point Jenny decided to not think about this anymore. It's 12.01am. Jenny looked at her roommate, sitting across the bed, playing with her new laptop. "I guess she didn't know that today is my special day" Jenny tell herself that it's okay, they just been roommate about a year. She might not remember. So Jenny went to the toilet, bringing her phone, just in case someone texted her. She basically do that every year. After that she went back to her room, she got text from her mom. And several good friends. Wishing her all well. She felt happy. Her roommate still with her new laptop. "I'm gonna forcefully make her buy me a cake tomorrow" she finally found what to do with her forgetful roommate. It's 12.15am. Someone's calling. "Oh it's Mary..what's up Mary?" Mary asked Jenny to come over to her place, she didn't say why. Well it's obvious the reason, Jenny smirk a little with devilish thought "who on earth will not notice?" It was so cute. She went out, well her roommate kinda surprised with her leaving the room in the middle of the night. But Jenny assured her that she's gonna be okay. Arrived to Mary's room, suddenly Happy Birthday song came up by a group of people. Mary, Josephine, Tia and Chung. They sweetly wishing Jenny a happy birthday. Awww. Jenny thanked each and every one of them. Four of them have been such a supportive and good friends to Jenny. "I can't believe that they would do something special just for me" little thoughts came to mind. "I guess I'm one of the gang after all". Jenny has always caught in her foolish idea that she has no real friend around her. She always thought that nobody sincerely wants to be her friend. That little but overwhelming surprise assured her that, it wasn't totally true. It's 12.40am two other texts came in, it was from Bianca and West, Jenny's bestfriends. Jenny and the gang went out having a bite at a 24 hours restaurant near by. Chit chatting about life, classes, boys, homework, fashion, well the list never ends. It was fun. Jenny, somehow felt healthily special that very moment. One hour later they came back to the dorm. Saying goodbyes to each other, Jenny on her way to her room. It's 1.45am. Jenny checked her phone, about 20 people posted on her wall on facebook. And another text from Peter, her little brother. As she continues to walk, suddenly something came to mind, "I have good friends celebrating me, my parents and old friends still remember me, Why On Earth do I feel so empty?" At the very moment, somewhere at her left side chest, hurts. Jenny felt an unknown, but familiar pain. She began to cry. She cry as if her precious cat died. As if she got an F in English and she felt like she's the stupidest person in the world. As if the world never cares about her. She cried so hard. She couldn't even walk properly. Her eyes became blurry. It was because of the tears. She felt sad. But she felt mad also. Jenny couldn't decide which one she felt more. As she arrived at her room. Her roommate slept already. But Jenny notice a little paper on her desk. " Happy Birthday dear roommate! Sorry I forgot. Love you". Jenny started to cry even harder, but she managed to restrain herself from making any noise. Jenny went straight to bed. "Everybody is happy for me, wishing me all well, celebrating me, on my special day, there are people who loved me for who I am" Jenny hugged her pillow, crying again, feeling sad-mad about something that she has been longing for. It is 2.00am.
There is still no text from Bobby."
It has to be you.
